Hugh Barr Gray

His mother, Amanda P Thorne, died in child birth. Also two siblings Isabella 1873 Valentine 1875 . As a result Hugh was sent to live with Aunt Bella (Valentine) in Newburgh, N.Y. When his father Dr James Martin Gray remarried to Susan Brown, Hugh rejoined the family who then moved to College Point N.Y. Later half brothers, James jr. Curtis Rockwell, and Philip were born to James Martin and Susan Brown Gray. Once again they moved, this time to Boston, where he became head of Washingtonian Home, until he retired.

Hugh Barr married Gertrude Merriam (Pratt) 1871- 1960 and had 1 son James Pratt Gray in 1907.  Both are burried at Center Cemetery, Chesterfield, Massachusetts,the "F Section".Listed in the US 1880 Census as living with James Martin & Susie G.
