Isaac Gelston Gray departed Liverpool England on the 8th May 1857 on board the Commodore Perry, landed at Melbourne in September. Also on board were Archibald age 25 (? B 1832) I have just found a Archibald died aged 28 in 1862 ( ? B 1834 ) place of birth Down. Could be our Archibald. Can't find a marriage yet so perhaps he hadn't married, Also on board James aged 27 ( ? B 1830). They were all Laboures.
I also have found , not sure if there is a conection or not, Jessie Gray aged 25 ( Born 1838) and a John Gray aged 22 (B 1838) Departed Liverpool in 1860 arrived in Melbourne in August and I am sure it was on the Commodore Perry also.
Stated on Isaac Gelston Grays death cert. he was a Auctioneer. It stated on his son's Archibald death cert. Isaac was a retired Gentleman.

The three Gray brothers who came to Melbourne Victoria were not actually labourers. This was an unassisted voyage which does not give detailed information. Everyone of the passenger list is thus recorded as a labourer.

Interesting footnote is that James Milliken is witness to William Gray & Sarah Newton's wedding and Robert Barr is winess to Elizabeth Gray and James Milliken's wedding. Margaret Robb is the witness to Susan Gray and Robert Barr's wedding. James Milliken is also a benefactor in Mary Robb Gray's will. See far right for the Robb Gray wedding which I assume is also tied in.
The Will of John Robb Gray late of Ballyskeagh County Down Farmer who died 28 January 1889 at same place was proved at Belfast by Hugh Ferguson of Cooper's Hill Farmer Alexander H. Moore of High-street Newtownards Merchant both in said County and Mary Robb Gray of Ballyskeagh Widow the Executors.

his daughters would have been born roughly:
1863, 1868, 1879, 1881

"A Light for the Road" which is a history of the Ballygilbert Presbyterian Church by John and Eleanor McConaghy. In the back is an appendix containing 'Extracts from "Statistics of the Families of the Congregation of Ballygilbert" by Rev. Abraham Liggat' (He was the founder of the church, and served from 1841-1851). Opinion is that he wrote these towards the end of his ministry, as he did not complete the whole congregation.
Gray. Wm B.sallagh, farmer, has one sitting in our church. His wife Mary Ann attends. The family are Isabella, Wm., Jas. Archy & Isaac. Isabella is married to Saml McCune. The parents living unhappily the father Wm went off without notice to America, but has returned this year 1850. The son Wm is sometimes at Pub(lic) Wor(ship). Jas is learning to be a gardener at Mr Dunbar's Woburn, near Millisle. [PRONI T/2653/1]
